That being said, Merts (southern soul food) in uptown puts any type of food made outside of the south to shame in my opinion. The fried chicken and collards, with some squash caserole and a biscuit, and a slice of red velvet cake is a meal good enough to make a man cry. And the chicken and dumplings...don't even get me started. I made fried dill pickle slices (you heard right) a few nights ago, and I have to say that they were pretty freakin great too. I LOVE to eat. |
I like fried pickles once in a while...never tried to make any. Used to get'em at a catfish place in Mississippi.
Best thing to eat down south is bobbacue...
You know, I was born in Virginia...and I think I was 8 or 9 years old before I realized "barbed" wire wasn't bob wire...
