Maybe he will eventually crack up and find salvation by confessing. He and Hamilton should get together and tell the whole sordid story about Postal.

very funny. But seriously, if Landis is taking advise from Armstrong - and thereby still trying to insist that he's innocent - then Landis is more of an idiot than I thought. Landis needs to recognise that by following his present course, has not only cost him his career, he didn't even get the opportunity to earn some real money. If Armstrong is advising/pressuring Landis - Landis needs to wake up and smell the coffee. He can partially recover his reputation and he might even get a chance to race again - if he made a full confession. Landis hasn't even recognised the fact that Armstrong won't even admit to riding the Tour de France anymore - given the fact that the UCI did a number of him the day after he retired (by leaking the six EPO positive results in 1999).

...don't you feel though, that flandis has to hold his course until the last appeal is trounced if he hopes to have a legal leg to stand on when he seeks to get his prize money? after that appeal is crumpled up, then i figure we will get the "tell-all" story of the times on the postal/disco bus.

If we get the truth out of him, it won't be for a long time. Maybe when he is forty or fifty he will open up and explain what was going on. We might need a T-Mobile-like situation where others have come forward.

And how much money does one make anyway from cycling books? His book this year was more about PR than making money. Having said that, it was fairly expensive. No...I think his reputation with his family, friends and supporters is more important, and probably more lucrative...which means he will probably die maintaining his innocence IMO. In the US, the messenger is often more important than the message, I think. Especially when it comes to selling books and standing for President.

If Flandis wrote a book detailing his doping and only doping without implicating others, then the book wouldn't sell because he's not (in)famous enough. However, if the book went on to show that Armstrong did dope to win the Tour de France then the book would go through the roof. He'd better have good lawyers and damn good facts/proof before going that way tho. Come on, Americans love to hate their heroes, once someone is fallen to the gutter, they love to get dirt on them. |

Looking back, at least some riders had the class to just walk away (Camezind, for example). Landis with his appeals/funds, meeting house speechs etc : he's a wanker. (sorry I shouldn't swear....but).
