Several riders including Cunego and Vande Velde crashed in a traffic circle. Wow, I think at least 20 riders have gone down.

Crash. On both sides of a roundabout. Includes Cunego, Ballan, Nibali and Vandevelde. But the group has slowed and is waiting for them.

Doubtful. At the present pace (before the slowdown following the crash) they would end the stage about 4 minutes down from the break.

39 km to go and the break still has 14'22". I think the peloton is racing for fifth place.

By the way, the peloton is riding through Cuneo - a beautiful town worth visiting if any of you ever get a chance - great town and awesome riding in the area too...

They will catch the guys in the break in the team bus after the race. Despite Phil Ligget's inability to comprehend simple math(s).

Agreed. No way they can catch the break now. They could have caught the break if they didn't slow down significantly after Pereiro's crash. Speaking of the crash, Pereiro apparently collided with Hunter which is what precipitated his crash.

I'm not familiar with the skills of the riders in the breakaway. Heard of a couple of them, but don't know much about them. Which one does anyone think will win?

As expected, CSC is putting the hurt in the 3rd category Colle del Morte.

This is from the Tour de France official website live ticker:

16:42 - Evans Wears Tibet T-Shirt

Cadel Evans has just been seen near the head of the peloton getting some food from a team-mate. With his yellow jersey unzipped, you can see his specially made undershirt which has a motif with the flag of Tibet and a message stating: "Free Tibet".
He wore the same thing earlier this year in Liege-Bastogne-Liege and wondered if it would get cool enough for him to don it while wearing the ’maillot jaune’

If he tries to take it to the olympics, don't you think the Chinese will confiscate it?

He'll be lucky to make it through immigration.

Stage 15 - I think Gerrans has got a bit of sprint in him. I know nothing about the other guys... despite my encyclopedic cycling knowledge.

Gerrans is struggling. Martinez is up front with Pate at his wheel. CSC is still putting down the hammer. When will the attacks start in the peloton?
