Ricco may have been specifically targeted for testing EPO variants. Maybe others that don't have strange blood values won't be tested in the same way.

It does not take a rocket scientist to determine that Piepoli's sample should be tested for everything that Ricco's samples were.

Ricco has UCI exemption for having a naturally high HCT. Does this mean he has been on EPO since birth? Or that the UCI exemption is bull? Why would he need EPO if he already had a naturally high HCT?

Too bad that he already has a nickname called Cobra. Otherwise, "trashmouth" would have been perfect.

IMO, either UCI's "exemption" is crap, or he has been taking EPO consistently for a very long time to maintain a high HCT to get this exemption.

Is this the reason that Piepoli took the stage win on Hautacam ahead of Cobo? Was Cobo trying to avoid testing?

Ya, Eurosport Kilometre Zero said there was no sign of them at the start and they have most likely been withdrawn.

Also showed pictures of Ricco being led out of a trailer by Police and being surrounded by cameramen and booing fans. He gave no reaction.

Well, wont be seeing him for a few years anyways.

After all his chiding of Contadoper being on the beach before the Giro - he was just jealous that he couldn't afford the same doctor.

No sign of them? I bet they all hauled ass out of France as fast as they could go.

BBC reports:

The news of Saunier Duval's withdrawal will come as a blow to veteran team member Leonardo Piepoli, who won Monday's tenth stage.
