Yep, and news are simply flying at moment. Duenas is in real ****, if he was maintaining forbidden stuff. I guess French police will try to get him to accuse any other people who might have been involved. Flashback on 1998...

another rider, Cooke, from Barloworld, gave up 1 hour ago, apparently on injury !!

Pardon my language. Very bad day for me, as an Italian and a cycling fan.

Some are reporting that transfusion equipment was found in Duenas' room. If that is true then he has a lot of questions to answer. Someone would have to be storing the blood.

I go to a meeting with the bank (not the blood bank).
I log on here for some good news and I read that Ricco has been caught doping.
Great.

Agreed. What worries me now is there will be more. So much for the Tour of redemption.

I checked Bro, and l'equipe is confirming what you are saying about doping paraphernalia in Duenas' room... Read it here:

He crashed, got back to the peloton and the abandoned. It may be totally innocent and be a genuine injury, but who knows.

Has the team tried to wash hands off taking responsibility? To the contrary, the reports here suggest that they were trying to make a run for the border. So, it seems to be a tacit admission of systematic team based doping.

Yes, you're right, apologies, what I wrote sounds ambiguous. I meant to ask, as I'm not watching today, if anyone has seen him fall, etc, or what the injury is about...Worst thing now is start accusing everyone in the peloton who either wins the stage, or stays behind, or goes home...

So please TDL, don't simplify/corrupt what I was saying into a pro-UCI or pro-ASO dichotomy. The problem isn't that simple IMO.
Geez, got a touch personal there for you, did it? And you were the one who were lecturing me on getting satire some time back?

Ricco has been a target of the drugs testers in the first week. Another rider reportedly targeted was Manuel Beltrán, expelled on Friday after testing positive for EPO, but Ricco said yesterday that his own case was complex. The 24-year-old races with a certificate issued by the International Cycling Union (UCI) to prove that his haematocrit level is naturally in excess of 50%, but the testing at the Tour is being undertaken by the French anti-doping agency (ALFD), which may not have access to the documentation concerning Ricco's unusual blood values. This may explain its apparent interest in collecting samples - four in the first week - from him.

"I'm absolutely calm and not worried ... I have the same blood values now as when I was born; they're normal for me and I have a UCI certificate to say so. I'm not angry," Ricco said, but later contradicted himself: "I had this rage to win because people are trying to ruin my image
