John Schlecks car's being searched!!!!!!!???????????

God I'm getting old - I raced against John Schleck back in the 1980's
(his pro licence was terminated and he started racing as an amateur after a couple of years).

From Cycling news:

15:26 CEST
Papa Schleck update from Reuters. Looks to our untrained eyes like much ado about nothing: Johnny Schleck, who drives guests around for one of the Tour sponsors, was asked to step out of the car at a roundabout and was searched by a police officer. He was then asked to drive the car towards the other side of the roundabout, where the vehicle was searched by customs officers for 30 minutes. "We will search the car," a customs officer told Reuters without giving any further details. The car later continued on the stage course behind a customs vehicle towards Grenoble.

I just started watching the stage. What happened to Cunego? CN says that he is about 12 minutes behind the peloton...

Early crash. For all the hype surrounding him, he may not even make it to Paris.

Barredo. What a dickhead. He just attacked near the top of the climb. It was telegraphed so much Stevie Wonder could have seen it coming. He might has well got his DS to yell it out over a megaphone.

That was a track sprint like cat and mouse game in the last km! So, win #5 for Columbia...

That's the most ridiculous finish I ever saw in a race. They both deserved to be caught.

You obviously never was the 87 Liege Bastongne Liege with Roche and Criquelion. They actually DID get caught. I'm surprised Phil and Paul never mentioned it, they normally do.

I dunno Grates... but you might want to post in the Stage 19 thread.

Columbia have got to be very happy about their performance this tour. The French teams are still struggling a bit to make an impression... Credit Agricole have a couple of stages though. And Cofidis has one with Dumoulin.

Whatever the stage, the win was well desrved. I think Burghardt competes with some of CSC guys of the time most spent splitting the wind for the peloton. Even not very visibly and gloriously he's been working like a horse.
