I think if your shoe cleats slip off the pedals... it could be very painful...

The sick thing is that a vivid picture and imagined pain came directly into my brain after reading your post. I guess my time with prostate exams gives me some inkling of that level of penetration....and I have to say that I will forego the experience.

I like the way you think Geoff/Classic...my idea involves the putting all the riders names in a lottery after every 3 stages & drawing out new teams....noe that would be interesting...imagine if cadel hadda drawn CSC for Alpe d'huez!

Mega time bonuses... for every person you beat in a stage you get one second time bonus...
Come last in stage one and you'd already be down over 2 hours...
Cavendish would be miles out in front after the 1st 4 stages...

Math and calculation are unkown from you
180 riders * 1 sec = 3 mn !

Not to mention that it defeats the purpose of the "same time" rule on flat stages.

The aim of giving the same time to the finishing bunch is to stop mass sprinting of the whole peloton in a dangerously confined space. If you then give time bonuses for places... you reintroduce the same problem you tried to solve before. Namely the whole peloton madly sprinting to the finish line in a narrow street to get the best time bonus.
