Thanks for your nice words.

When Vino just got a one year ban, UCI wanted to make appeal but Vino anounced his retiring so it became useless to pursue! Since Vino said he is coming back UCI reacted by saying they will reopen the case.

There is a lot of interview of Prudhomme saying that Lance is welcome but what is missing on many of them are Prudhomme's answers to journalists questions. He stated that Armstrong will have to explain his 6 EPO samples.
http://fr.sports.yahoo.com/video/100...me-reagit.html
http://www.kewego.fr/video/iLyROoafYdal.html
He finished his answers by saying "Until Tour de France it will flee many water under the bridge...", indirectly he is saying that nothing is done and Lance at the Tour de France that is not certain.

Armstrong has insulted French, many people don't want to see him. There is no reason to let him race but ASO cannot say "NO" directly. So the political choice was to push AFLD ...then refusal of Lance.... then Lance is going to Giro and has announced that he will not race Tour de France. Why? Because ASO has said to him "NO" behind the door.
At the moment there is no possiblity, French don't want him so they push him in a no choice "retesting of 99's samples".

That could change but I doubt. We said "no" to the most idiot president we can easily say no to the greatest asshole of cycling!
Have a nice day when I sleep!

Yeah, the Giro press release says that "Italians have always had a feeling of warmth for Armstrong".
I bet Simeoni disagrees with that view!

It would appear that Armstrong has changed his plans for 2009 and his participation in the Tour de France.
The Giro, in it's centenary, presumably want their GT to have even more publicity than usual.

Depends on how you view publicity, I suppose.

Given that there were no major scandals at the Giro in 2008 - I think that it would be unlikely that RCS will the run of having the centenary event ruined
by a doping scandal.
Quid pro quo.

I am more curious if LA is getting substantial start money from the Giro organizers. I really don't think is all about the bike, or the cancer publicity. Its all about the fame and money.

i'm sticking with the "it's all about how he misses being treated like royalty". in the u.s. he attracts far less attention than he will in europe (both + & -).

ROFL. Do you think that Frank was doping and Andy wasn't? No wonder you were too stupid to see the problem with Kohl. And shouldn't CSC be out of the Tour next year for embarrassing them with a doper.

Armstrong was front page of the Gazzetta yesterday and today there is a two page spread of him training in Texas..... yep they have bought each other and proof enough that he is not riding the Tour.

It will all blow over when Armstrong gets dropped in Paris-Nice next year and has to rethink "the global fight against cancer". I see it all a storm in a teacup. Move on.

Lance said "he woul run as Governor" so probably he has to diminish the impact of his doped career.

i think that's an unfair statement. i think if you knew someone that has been helped by the LAF, then you wouldn't be so quick to judge his commitment to improving cancer survivorship.

does he have an ego? sure. is is he really committed to his cause. absolutely.
