Default 2009 Tour de France route

Less than a week till presentation and there's still no thread about it here.
Prologue in Monaco, visit to Barcelona, Mont Ventoux (maybe even ITT) on penultimate day, are highlights of the parcours so far.
It looks like they'll have to hit Pyrenees very early, which will change the race a bit from previous editions.
The fact they start the race from the south promises very interesting design of the route, but I don't think riders will be thrilled 'cause there will have to be some very long transfers.

It looks like route might be quite good. Second week might be quite flat despite the fact they might Vosages. However, first week and last week looks promising.

Yes.
The 2008 Tour de France route made for good viewing.
The move away from the opening week of flat stages-formula, made the 2008
Tour de France better in my humble opinion.

Let's hope the 2009 Tour de France route is a further blend on 2008

Rumours of the second to last stage will be 130km to Ventoux....... then transfer into Paris. That sounds cool.

No... we will know the real route tomorrow, but this sums all what has been said by some cities which will host Tour de France.

Aah, ok I see, I read somewhere that the route would be revealed on Wednesday but didn't realise that "the public" already knew so much.

Just one individuaal TT, and 4 mountain-top finished. It looks like a pure climber's route. If it hadn't been in France, it could just as well had been the Giro ..

One TT...made for Contador? Also, this route wouldn't favour Armstrong if he were racing next year.
