Even you Whitey would ride the TDU for $1 million.

I put it on par with WWF wrestling, cockfighting and international dwarf throwing. The TDU will always be a paid advertisement. Not worthy on anyones palmers except Graham Brown is a hack.
Looks like you've done a lot of research for us on the TDU. Thank you for your insight.

My tuppence worth.

I see nothing wrong with the TDU.

It is important the sport tries to develop outside of Europe and I therefore think that the TDU should be viewed in a positive light.

Given that Aus. has given the sport some superb riders like Phil Anderson, Bradley McGee, Stuart O'Grady, Robbie McEwen, Baden Cooke etc, it is important that Aus does get the benefit of a prominent race in the UCI calendar.
Events like the TDU may help to sustain the conveyor belt of great aussie talent.

As your observations noted, WBT has obviously devoted enough of his valuable time to the race of no value to be able to make judgement on its details - I guess he caught the highlights whilst waiting for Teletubbies to start.
Graeme Brown's palmeres speak for themselves.

Still your vitriolic drivel brings a smile to my face ( and thats not the G & Ts talking)

To think someone as miserable as you actually exists makes me laugh

Just watched the coverage and that crowd was nothing like a Tour crowd. Biggest crowds at a cycle event was when the Tour came to London a couple of years back. The crowd was 20 deep for the entire length of stage 1. Wilunga Hill was barely 2 deep.

Now wasn't today stage meant to be the "queen stage" ? A farking sprinter won it ! What a boring farking stage race ! The stage was a non-event. Nothing happened on the Wanker's Hill. Nothing. Well I did see a rider drop back to the team car for a water bottle at one point. That was relatively exciting.

But don't take my word for it..... This is what CycleSport magazine wrote:

"His Majesty's presence (we wish could ignore it) at the Tour Down Under does not make it a great race. Even if they added another nought to his start fee the race would still be a load of mostly flat stages in very hot weather contested by peleton B-listers. This is a training event. It is not proper race and its indicative of the UCI's usual shambolic thinking that overall victory ahead of a bunch of three-quarters fit riders enjoying a busman's holiday nets the same number of points as fifth place in the Tour de France. Nice thinking, bozos"

Couldn't have put it better myself !

The only winner from this race is Big Tex himself who must be laughing at all you stupid aussies paying him $1,000,000 in tax payers money for turning up and doing nothing ! Stupid bunch you are. Stupid.

I think it's good to promote cycling in Australia but all that money could be used more usefully.

Agreed like investing in young riders in attempt to right the wrongs of Bejing when the Australians were embarassed by the British on the medals table. No point in investing in an old man suffering from EPO withdrawal. Then again I guess it proves just how stupid Australians are.

Next time, they should hold the Tour Down Under in London and pay David Millar to be the main attraction. Would that make you happy Whitey?

yes, or should that be Yes with a capital Y at the start of the sentence? If you're going to be a spelling and grammar nazi make sure you are on top of it all yourself. Stupid pommie dickhead.

The smell is offensive.
