Default Tour de France tipping

Okay, so you think you can go up against Grater and beat him?

Well here's your chance to prove yourself. Let's run a tipping comp at the Tour de France.

At the start of each stage, you put your tips in here. The day of the prologue you have up until the start of the prologue to put in these tips.

Yellow Jersey winner:
Green Jersey winner:
Polka dot jersey winner:
White jersey winner:
Team winner:

The yellow jersey winner is worth 5 points.
The green jersey winner is worth 7 points
The polka dot jersey winner is worth 10 points
The white jersey winner is worth 5 points
The team winner is worth 5 points.

Each individual stage.

You are to select the stage winner.
You are to select which team will win the stage (when it comes to the TTT, just select this option).
You are to select a rider who you think will go in a breakaway - now this breakaway has to last more than 100km for the tip to be active. You can't fluke a rider going into a breakaway, then being chased down straight away. This break has to be a genuine break.

The stage winner will give you 10 points
The team winner will give you 5 points
The breakaway rider will give you 10 points

If the rider you select in the breakaway happens to win the stage, then you will get 30 points on top of the 10 points you recieve.

Now, just to make things clear. The point layout, especially during the stages, strategy can come into play. Think about it.

Also, I'm thinking of ranking each stage. Obviously the easier the stage, the lower points, but the harder the stage, the higher points you receive. Don't know if I'll do that yet. It might make things confusing.

Whoever wants to take part, just confirm in here. If there are any other tips you would like to add, discuss.

One last thing.

Invisible people cannot take place.

Oh, I might add another point.

You are to name 3 riders. Any three riders you want. The riders who you think will test positive. If one of the three you chose actually does test positive, you will get 50 points.

Good luck!

I'm definitely tipping Cancellara for a positive dope test. He just finished second on an uphill finish at the TdS. Whatever he's on, I want it 'cos then I might be able to go up hills fast .

The climbs in Switzerland are soft if guys like Eisel can get over cat 1 climbs near the end of the stage and win.

I'm surprised Kreuziger or Kloden didn't attack last night. They might be biding their time. They gotto get rid of Cancellara and perhaps Martin if they want to win this.

Cant we just try and pick which days armstrong gets blood boosters?

For some reason I think 2009 could be another Festina year. We could try and pick which day that goes down?

Yeah we've got no interest here anyway.

The first major doping story will happen on stage 8.

Sorry Grates, but you're not giving any prizes for tipping, so I'll post my tips in another thread.
You can save this thread by keeping it for doping tips.
I think some doping cases will rise just before the Alps. Maybe on rest day in Verbier, but I'd say couple of days before. Logic is - they need some time to get results of tests done in first week. So, juicing for Pyrenees - getting caught before the Alps.
