Give me a break. This race will come down to AC and LA. When all other Lieutenants are gone, it will be AC vs. LA. No way AC would accept that even if he is told to by JB.

Well, today's stage made things more interesting for sure. It just proved what most already knew. LA is only about LA. The peleton shouldn't underestimate him

Cavendish has taken up where he left off last year.

Manx Missile is a sublime sprinter.

Hard to recall a similar sprinter dominating as he is doing.

I remember Bontempi, Vanderaarden : they were nowhere near as dominant.

This is Maartenesque.

Maybe he'll have to help Armstrong only as long as he's in Yellow. That would be on Arcalis, after that he'll sure be given the freedom to ride for himself. But will Arcalis cost him too much?

The only thing that todays stage proved is that AC is not as experienced as LA and that he needs to learn to pay attention to the race.

The same thing happened to Cristoph Moreau in 2007's Tour de France, a race that AC won, you would think he would have learned.

Its one thing to be at the right place at the right time and entirely another to ask you team to pull on the front. For 10-12k.

When it comes down to it, and you are a GC contender, and you lose time on a flat stage, its nobodies fault but your own. The only viable excuse would be if there was a wreck, but even then the peleton would most likely wait for you.

How much did LA pay Columbia for that?
All that buddy buddy with Michael Rogers lately paid off.
LA should also get an academy award for the look of surprise on his face when he looked back and saw he was in the break.

Conspiracy theories anyone?

I'm looking these interviews with Cavendish for several days now, and I think he's real rogue, which is kind of charmi in a way.

Bontempi won 6 stages in the Giro one year. Petacchi, Cippolini, Maertens, Saronni have all had 5+ hauls in GT's

Hey-O!

Great finish, sets up intriguing storylines.

I thought it would be one of those mildly interesting bunch sprints; I'm not exactly Joe Tour but in my half-dozen years watching I've never seen (or heard of) a flat stage busting up like that.
