An Atheist Republican? I don't know about that one...That's akin to a gay Republican...but I'm sure Lance could manage to spin that "little" issue to his advantage somehow...

He'll find God in improbable & dramatic circumstances (perhaps after Contador gets struck by lightening on the final lap in Paris next year?) - he's a man on a mission, nothings impossible.

The situation is even worse now. After 2008, instead drawing the obvious conclusion that their party needs to be more moderate and inclusive, the Republicans have been purging members who don't pass extreme right wing muster. Limbaugh is still praising Palin and sees her as an asset for the party. They even torpedoed the chances of moderate Repubs in moderate states this year. It's hard to imagine them lining up behind a godless athiest. Heck, he is even more poorly educated than Palin.

Palin is brain dead.
Without one shadow of a doubt.

[I]I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles. You should believe in these athletes, and you should believe in these people. I'll be a fan of the Tour de France for as long as I live. And there are no secrets - this is a hard sporting event and hard work wins it" - Armstrong 2005 TDF
