I think it is definately a huge loss to the team, but Roberto shows potential to be a team leader and even win the tour someday. He was a very good asset to Lance as a climber but I am sure other climbers can be found to replace him. If the rest of the team stays strong and Lance doesnt lose focus I dont think Heras leaving will affect the team that much.

Heras was a definite asset to Lance and the USPS team but Lance was winning before Heras was brought onto the team and I think he can continue to win as long as he has a team comparable to the teams of the other strong contenders. Unfortunately, things are very different for Lance this year. He's already added himself to the "famous five club", he's divorced and altering his training to spend time with his kids. He's seeing new women (i.e. Sandra Bullock and Sheryl Crow). And last year was a very tough year for him. I think last year was a wake-up call for him. He knows that he very nearly didn't win and if he still has all the fight and drive of the Lance Armstrong from the years prior to that, he'll be more tightly focused and in better shape than ever. |
