Default Grease for a carbon seatpost into ti?

i've had two completely different answers to this question
from the two bike shops in my area -

should i grease my carbon seatpost, and if so, what grease
should i use?

Ask your seatpost manufacturer. The instructions that came
with my post said no grease. They also sead to carefully
wash the inside of the seattube to remove any grease from
manufacturing or previous posts.

Dear Krusty,

One objection is that carbon seatposts may absorb the oil in
the grease and expand.

Another objection is that you may have to overtighten things
to get a greased carbon seatpost to stay in place.

Have a look here:

Ask the manufacturer. Expect an answer of "none".

Many types of grease will attack the resins used in a carbon
component; this is a Bad Thing. If the seat tube has grease
in it already, I'd recommend swabbing it out before that
carbon post goes
in.

There are greases that can be safely used with resins, but
do yourself a favor and don't try to guess which ones they
are. (And most particularly, keep any kind of lithium grease
safely away from your carbon components.)
