Default newbie questions on shoes and cleats

I used Shimano Mtb shoes for my road bike . The LBS said I could walk better. I started having pain
in the bottom of my foot after about 50 miles of riding. I have switched to road shoes (shimano 125)
and am still using the SPD cleats. The burning in the bottom of my foot seems to be gone, but I
would like to find a better cleat for walking. These are dangerous! Maybe I should I just never get
off the bike! Thanks

You probably just need to get used to walking on them. If nothing else, they'll get a bit more
scuffed & give more traction. If you want, you can buy cleat covers for some cleats, perhaps yours;
look at the mailorder sites.
