Default Voler tights, shorts -- opinions?

Anyone using Voler tights or shorts? How are they (especially the pad)? Recommended or no?

I have the shorts. The pad is great. I highly recommend Voler shorts. They also cost a lot less than
many of the other brands out there. Josh Zlotlow JAZlotlow@aol.com Sacramento, California Sacramento

For the price I think they are great! The pad and Lycra is a little thin, but I don't like feeling
like I'm wearing a diaper. The pad has always been adequate and they fit me great! A lot better than
the high priced Assos. Velo Sports is also a good company to do business with, they include with
your order a return envelope in case you want to return them and a questionair on how you like the
product! How many companys do that. Often they throw a couple Fruities (soft candy) in with the
order. Steve

They're comfortable for me, but the elastic in the lycra on the butt wears out somewhat quickly,
especially compared to PI shorts which last forever.

I bought one pair last year. I think they're OK for the money, but I really prefer PI shorts. The
Voler pad is bulkier, but more abrasive. I can't ride them for any real distance. I made the mistake
of wearing them on a century, and I got pretty raw. My wife has a pair also, & she pretty much likes
them, though not as much as PI shorts either. I guess you get what you pay for.

For tights, I prefer wearing simple tights over shorts, rather than padded tights. I like stretch
fleece (Malden Mills Polartec).

I have a couple of pairs of PI shorts that are made from some kind of different material, it's a
coarser weave, not like the typical smooth Ultrasensor material. I've had these shorts for 5-6
years, and they wear like iron and are extremely comfortable. Anybody know who makes shorts like
these anymore?

Top quality You can pay more than 3X for other bibs, but not get more than 10% more for your money.
Most of their sales go to "Team Kits."

There is a lot of personal preference in shorts. Personally, I find the Pearl Izumi blue PRT pad
(the one in most of their shorts) to be bulkier than the Voler Alcantara pad (their latest pad). On
the other hand, I like the Pearl Izumi Microsensor fabric better. I haven't tried the new Pearl
Izumi 3D pad yet.
