Default high pulse, low blood pressure

My pulse during the day such as just typing on the
computer is on average between 80-100 bpm but my blood
pressure is always very low. I was wondering what this
might mean? I have factored out overtraining, as I have at
some times taken 3 or 4 months off from training and still
had a high pulse.

Boy, I'll be waiting to hear from professionals on this one.
If you have a pump beating that fast and the pressure is
still low I think you should get a first hand medical
opinion FAST. I and many fit athletes can maintain normal
blood pressure with a heartbeat in the low 40's, even 30's
sometimes.

Get that looked at ASAP. I had the same symptom and was
diagnosed with Hyperthyroid (Graves Disease). I'm on thyroid
suppressing meds now and am back down to 37-45 BPM.

I guess you could always ask Dr. Andrew Chung, PhD, MD :-)

I tend to agree. The only possible exception I can think of
is raised heart rate from dealing with emotion-charged
content at the computer, and I would expect that to raise
the blood pressure at the same time. I know I find my heart
rate is sometimes up a little (nowhere near the OP's levels)
after researching and posting responses in a contentious
thread. OTOH if the raised heart rate at the computer is an
example of normal daytime rates and not limited to the
computer, I would certainly want a good medical opinion. I'm
not a professional--at anything. :-)

I've been to the family doctor and I didn't bring it up. He
checked all my vitals and said I was healthy. Then I
brought up my observation and he checked again. He said
nothing was out of the ordinary. I'm also a regular blood
donor. I donate blood every 3-4 months. I asked them what
this meant and they said I was fine. I did a search on the
net and the only information that I found was that maybe I
had a small heart. My own guess right now is that I am too
muscular and my heart has to work harder normally because
of my heavier mass. This doesn't explain when I'm not
really active though, like i mentioned earlier on the net
or watching tv, reading. Oh I forgot to mention I have a
baboon heart (just kidding).

Glad you got it checked and got reassured. Thanks for
reporting back so we won't worry.
