In short, After watching the sunset funeral. I'd almost forgotten about how Ronald Regan boycotted the 1980 Moscow Olympics to the chagrin of many steller US contenders. Yet, the total sum of the Presidents output over the span of his tenures certainly over rides this fact. I'm sure the 1980 US Olympic teams feel the same way! At anyrate. God bless the the Regan family. Rest in peace Mr President...you were most certainly America's first man. |

I bet you are a product of government schools. Jimmy Carter was president in 1980. He was the one who forced the USOC to boycott the Games. The election was held in 1980, but the president does not take office until January of the following year. For the record, I know of one Olympian who despises Jimmy Carter for that reason alone. Let's see. He supported Saddam. He supported Apartheid. He tripled the national debt. He traded weapons for hostages. He wasted trainloads of money on a fantasy missile defense system, only to have it scrapped later with no apology. He funded dictators who's policies included genocide(which technically made him an accomplice to murder.). He started showing signs of Alzheimers halfway through his 2nd term, and hid the fact from the public. His economic policies broke the back of the American labor movement, as well as the working middle class..............but he was a charmer. Forgiven? Not until I have Alzheimer's. |

If that were true, why give him a disease he didn't even know he had? (once it took hold) But the real question is: Did he die with a load in his Depends? |

I don't believe in god but I do believe in karma. I think that this is simply karma coming back to him. I wonder what disease bush will get? Maybe Ebola? I'm not unsympathetic to his family though. Who amongst us could've watched Nancy kissing his coffin, and saying goodbye, without crying? That was about the saddest moment on TV I have ever seen, and I caught it strictly by coincidence. But it brought home the fact that even if you thought he was a dickhead, and he was, he was still loved very deeply by his wife and most of his family, although it is my understanding his kids despised him. alternativerunnerz@hotmail.com (_!_ grabber) wrote in message news:<bc1bcb54.0406132302.13e4eeb@posting.google.com>... > "dwjones45" <dwjones45@comcast.net> wrote in message > news:<TtWdnYjEh82ff1Hd4p2dnA@giganews.com>... > > i'll 3rd that. i will even go further as to say that > > ronnie's alzheimers was god's way of punishing ronnie > > for all the harm he did to certain segments of the > > american population. > > If that were true, why give him a disease he didn't even > know he had?
