ah, the old school Rush fan. well, that was me for many
years, then i gradually moved into the Moving Pictures mode,
and even Power Windows, where they came up with wonderfully
written and produced pop/prog... that's MY term for it,
anyway. it took me a long time to really like Signals... it
was just so different at the time. still a bit clunky
sounding, but i like much of it fine. they have had moments
of brilliance along the way, but yes, there is much filler
and there is a generic sound to a lot of it.

and i couldn't bring myself to buy their last full
length album, Vapour Trails.... it stunk so bad. only
one or two acceptable songs on it. watching the RUsh in
Rio DVD recently got me back into the early stuff, which
you mentioned, David. but i'd stretch your list up to
Moving Pictures.

and the Feedback cd is lots of fun... a "dinosaur" band
actually going back to their roots and paying tribute to
the groups that influenced and inspired them to follow
the dream.

Now on a RUNNING note, today i did my first run in over
a week, and the ITBS seems to have subsided. just a hint
of the feeling near the knee, but good form and more of
a midfoot strike eliminated any bad sensations. i'm back
at it now!

happy,

Cam

Ignorant boob! Alex has become a bit portly of late, but the
song writers, Neil and Geddy are still quite trim, and could
no doubt run your **** in to a ditch.

As I recall, from your unflattering self portrait posted
some years ago, you are a short fat bald recluse, with forehead-vein-
popping high blood pressure, complete with a kilt fetish.

don't know what the hell you are talking about, but i guess
your ignorance says it all. we are discussing the rock group
named Rush.

enjoy that unenlightened life of yours.

i agree with Limelight, but not CttH... it's a great
song, but not long or complex enough.... i'd say La
Villa STrangiato, perhaps among my favourite three tunes
of theirs.

fave all-time band... really close to the Beatles.

He's a fat slob. Neil and Geddy are skinny because AIDS is
eating them up, much like you.

(with apologies to Rush....)

There is unrest in the newsgroup There is trouble with
my IT I think my iliotibial band's tight Oh, what is
wrong with me?

The's also trouble with my nipples After long runs I'm
quite a sight Sometimes all this evil chafing Will keep me
up all night

But I still love the feeling Of a good run every day And I
wonder when my Asics Will ever be...... US-made?

There is trouble with my IT And Jim Fixx has long been dead
Should I just scream, "enough of this!" Or try another long
run instead?

cheers,

Hi Ozzie: long time since we last chatted. i suppose it
might have been when i last suffered from ITBS

yes, i was rolling the IT faithfully but the condition still
sprouted up and even got worse. don't think i'd really
attribute it to the rolling, but rather the tightness of
calves and quads, and my old shoes. got new shoes, and have
had some deep massage to loosen up the rest of the legs. the
IT is still touch and go, but nothing serious. i find that
cycling bothers it a bit, too.

i find that just slowing waaaay down and paying attention to
form keep it at bay. i *guess* it'll subside in time.

thanks,

Cam

well done, David. you'd give Neil Peart some competition in
lyric writing. BTW, i am just getting started on Neil's
second book "Ghost Rider", which is excellent so far. read
it? The Masked Rider was quite good, too.

thanks for the "sympathetic" ode

I know David's background and precisely why I poked him
