Default Patellar Tendonitis

Anyone got any ideas of how to shake this patellar
tendonitis? I have had it now for about 6-7 weeks and
can't shake it. I have pain that is itchy and burning
sometimes and then other times it is a dull pain like the
tendon is bruised.

I have been icing and using moist heat as well. Any ideas on
maybe some analgesics?

I have done zero biking or running. Just lifting upper body
and swimming a little bit.

I suspect I ramped up too early this spring.

Took me a month of doing nothing to strain it.. no running,
or biking.. to heal mine. Then, I slowly eased back into
exercise, biking first and starting with a mile run...and
stopped if I felt any pain. Also starting wearing a patellar
brace (like chopac brace) which seemed to help.... that is
my story anyway, and it has been okay since. I made the
mistake when I first felt the pain or trying to push through
it which made it worse.

Eric,

Check out http://www.mindfulness.com/of5.asp

Roll out the quads You can use the PVC or the rolling pin to
lay on or you can check out www.tpmassageball.com and get
their complete kit for $120. IF you can loosen the quads the
pressure on the tendons will disappear.

That's interesting. I had a similar knee problem. My
physical therapist gave me a stretch for the side of my hip.
After months, my PT knee pain went away within a few days.

Gleshna, could you please send the directions for this
stretch?

Thanks, Ken
