x-no-archive:yes I ask this because while doing laps I have noticed the slowest swimmers are the ones with irregular kicking motions. Most of the poor swimmers kick only from the knees down, others "bicycle", and still others legs appear to be shivering rather than kicking. A few stop kicking entirely when breathing and then try to 'catch up' by jerking their legs violently. So, would these swimmers be better off just dragging their legs behind them than using these types of kicking motions? When does kicking stop becoming an advantage and start becoming a hindrance?
