used Vision R40 and Bike E AT For $1000. IS this a good deal or not?

I found a guy who has a Vision r 40 and a Bike E AT for sale he wants $500 each. Is this a good deal? Are these good bikes? He said one bike has very low miles and the other one has been used a fair amount but both are in good shape. Its a 200 mile round trip drive. So are these worth taking a look at?

These bike are around 1997 models.
