Unhappy Savoldelli Broke his Arm

On Italian news sites (www.gazzetta.it) the breaking news is that Savoldelli has fallen and broken his clavicule. Not clear how long he will be out of commission. The guy is possibly the most unlucky pro cyclist alive today.

And the guy can actually handle bikes (not like Tyler) - have you ever seen him scream down an Alpine downhill at the Giro!?

Paceline and cyclingnews.com are reporting a collarbone break in three places. Poor guy can't catch a break! I hope he can still ride the Giro!

According to cyclingnews.com, looks like a whole host of track riders injured today, too. Yuck. Injuries suck.

Usually 3 - 4 weeks off the bike but can generally use the indoor trainer after the first few days or more, depending on pain levels.

That's right. I smashed mine in a crash in the early 90s and coudl ride on the ergo within 3 days. 3 weeks till I got on the road though, the vibration was just too harsh....

But if the clavicle doesn't knit correctly, you can be out of commision for a long time, some people have had to have plates put in after the bone failed to knit, and then the plates have splintered the bone.
