Here's my baby it took me all summer to finally get it just the way I want it. Trek Madone 5.5 Project One. Sram Force 53-39 shimano 11-25 cassette, Dura Ace wheels, 705 Garmin. I love this bike. As a kid I loved Hot Wheels and seeing as how I feel like a kid when riding I wanted a bike that would help take me back to my childhood even more. I love everything about this bike the flashy colours to the comments on the road which is usually WOW! Many of my riding partners thought I was crazy when I told them how I was getting it painted but when I rolled up on it they just couldn't get over how good it looks.

This is the "Minstrel Cycle" of The Bicycling Guitarist, on which I've ridden tens of thousands of miles since the early 1980s while simultaneously playing guitar. It received some upgrades in 2003 and even more in 2009. |

I have spent a lot of time cleaning and polishing it over the years. Sometimes it goes years without being thoroughly cleaned, but this year there have been many upgrades. Before the vintage parts were put on they were thoroughly cleaned, polished and in some cases waxed. After September 21 of this year, when Annette Thompson of The Bicycle Museum of America agreed to take care of my bicycle after I die, I was motivated to polish it a wee bit more than usual. It is literally a museum piece now, and if I don't die ON the bicycle I hope it will be preserved for future generations as a pristine example of an electro-forged Schwinn from the 1970s. |

Here is my 1985 Schwinn World Sport, currently serving as a fixed with biopace chainring, 42/17; My 105-equipped Via Nirone, which should be all the new bike I will ever need; and my 1980 Gitane. I believe the Gitane is a Criterium because it came with Super Vitus 971/980 tubing and Spidel components, but the name of the model doesn't appear on the bike. It came with Mavic Module E's and a surprisingly still supple set of Michelin Elan clinchers, supposedly the first raceable clincher, but I have an old tubular wheelset and hill-friendly freewheel on there presently. |

Good call. I was wondering about that Colnago and several other pics as well. Nice bikes all but the saddle positions seems all wrong. Yes, everyone's built differently but I don't think saddles were designed or meant to be tilted in that crazy angle. Professional bike fitting anyone?
