Re: new road cyclist Unfortunately it is impossible for us to tell you what a good bike is for you. There are many different brands and styles of road bikes out there and no one on this forum can tell you that one would be better for you than another. Everyone is different and what appeals to one person may not appeal to another.
I suggest that you go to a bicycle shop and get fitted first. This can be expensive but it is imperative that you know what size bike is best for you before you start shopping. The next step is to go to bicycle shops and test ride bikes. The best thing to do when you go to a bicycle shop is to tell them what kind of riding you want to do and they will steer you to the bikes that are designed for that kind of riding. Ride as many bikes as you can and then pick out the one that you liked best that is in your price range. Once you have the bike, be ready to also purchase a helmet, gloves, cycling shorts, etc. Good luck and happy shopping!
