Default Thyroid supplementation and effect on calcitonin levels, magnesium and calcium levels.

I am currently on suppressive doses of thyroxine.

My TSH is less than 0.5 which is fine by my doctor.

My blood mineral tests show calcium in the low normal and the magnesium below normal levels. I am
wondering if having my thyroid gland activity suppressed with thyroxine will affect its ability to
secrete calcitonin.

Since there is the pregnancy issue (possibility of being pregnant right now), I will need to have
higher calcitonin levels, to be able to absorb any calcium I take, what should I do so I dont melt
away into nothing (very tiny to begin with) ?

Not a doctor, but there can be a problem with osteoporosis with low TSH as a result of HRT. It is
best to strive for TSH in the mid normal range if relief of symptoms allow it. It's a balancing act.
