Dr. Atkins was overweight, had heart problems: report NEW YORK, Feb 10 (AFP) - A medical examiner's report into the death of Dr. Robert Atkins, whose diet has catapulted fat into fashion, indicated he had a history of heart failure, a US newspaper said Tuesday. The New York medical examiner's report into Atkins's death said he had a history of heart attack, congestive heart failure and hypertension, the Wall Street Journal said. Atkins weighed 258 pounds (117 kilograms) when he slipped on ice while walking to work in April of last year, the paper said. At one time everyone and his dog knew that the world was flat(calories were all). It was a given. Then someone piped up that it doesn't make sense and that they thought the world might be round(carbs may be the problem and not fat). What heresy? How ludicrous. How quacky. How arrogant. What an upstart. What gall. How dare this upstart little pipsqeak argue against the Laws of Nature and more importantly, how dare he question our basic scientific beliefs that we have held for a thousand years. We are the all- knowing, he is a quack. Banish him, off with his head. But someone decided to look into it and found that, lo and behold, the world is round (low-carb diets work better than low-fat diets and is good for blood lipid counts). All hell braks loose as the authorities try to bear down on these dissenters and force their beliefs on everyone. They just cannot and will not admit that they were dead wrong. And so the story goes on an on. TC |

Ok, Fatkins head, if the Wall St. Journal misreported by saying Atkins weighed 258 pounds and had heart problems, then someone (you maybe?) would get them to publish a correction to thier story. Where is it? Post a link or state which issue of the paper has the retraction. Cmon blockage brain, inform us. Did you know that too many refined carbs in the diet depletes your body of B vitamins and folate which in turn affects your ability to convert tryptophan and niacin into serotonin which in turn can cause anxiety, depression, fits of anger and lashing out at people in an irrational manner? Either that is your problem or your meds are way off.
