There are too many rankings regarding education and income where Arkansas is
fighting Mississippi for the lowest spot as well as things like 'double
cousins' (related from both sides of the family) to ignore. But I saw an
opportunity to speak highly of one of Arkansas' redeeming values, so I took
it.

I was, for good and non-cycling reasons, in Arkansas last June, rode from
Bentonville to Eureka Springs and back, and truly enjoyed it, but it was so
tiring, twisty, up-n-down, I just had to fill up on local barbecue. That
was supposed to be legendary at some place in Eureka Springs, but really
failed to impress.

This ride is definitely worth doing into a race - or has that been done ?

If you really wanted to be impressed you should have kept headed west, to
Slick's in Muskogee, OK. Of the many people I took there, none was
disappointed. Also worth checking out is Wilson's, in Tulsa, which get
bonus points for the slogan, "You need no teef, to eat our beef!"

!!! It's not as though I have plans to *frequent* this place !! Lots of
places are good for a once-only, post-card ride.
