Enough with the arguing. Please dont turn this thread into a flame war because there is some useful info in it. Also, we are all cyclist so therefor we should respect all aspects of the sport. And macca; its really hard to tell if someone is being sarcastic when you cant see facial expressions or hear the tone of their voice. I for one thought you were serious....

hincapie is a top cyclist, great bloke too! i dont like track at all, thats just how i feel none of youre comments will change that. ROAD IS THE WAY.

Im with you Macca, it seems that most of the world doesnt understand the Aussie sarcasm, any Aussie could have seen you werent serious. If others dont like our sarcasm then they should either learn to understand it or just ignore it.

cheers olsilver its hard sumtimes on these forums! our language is obviously very different to other countries. I Listen to rodney rude, kevin bloody wilson, dave hughes, carl barron etc they are all hillarious but obviously very sarcastic!

yeah, legends in Australia but if Dave Hughes did his stuff almost anywhere in the world then most would just not get it, everyone just needs to learn what sarcasm is.

Just to jump on the track comments...
If you are interested, and close enough to a track, here is some introductory information for track at JuniorVelo.com. There's also a map of velodrome locations. It is complete for the USA, and has some of the locations in other countries. Not everyone likes track, but you don't know until you try. One of our best local juniors avoided it for a couple of years, telling his friends it would be too boring going in circles. Now he likes it and he's moving up the ranks. Some road racers do track just to get better at race finishes, because they learn so much about sprint tactics and technique. |

How does one start training for say a USCF certified race at this age(bt, I am 16) and especially when you live in a country like india???? any advice will be appreciated, thanks

. at least on road you can ride up hills and stuff whereas track is just going around in circles its more for the city folk track is......and i hate it
