well i've finally found the xes thread, and i like what i've seen so far.
limerickman, quick question, are underage riders still using the same small gears? when i was ridng u-14 the gear max ratio allowed was 52x18.
i cant believe that the governing bodies like the fic or bcf or whoever would allow underage riders to push such large gears as philhudson has described earlier. surely there must be some limitations?
also, getting away from the last subject, does anyone here know anyone looking to buy a very good second hand bike (mine) at a very good price?
there's pics in the cycling equipment forum.

Junior cycling in Ireland is restricted to low gears - that's still in place.

As regards a second bike - I may have someone who might be interested, depending on frame size, primarily.
You say the link is in cycling equipment ?

Hi Folks,

John Knees reporting aboard - all present and correct.

What a feeble excuse to close the ES forum - does everyone stop cycling in the winter?

Same scenario as when I tried to buy a pair of Polaroid clip-ons last November "Sorry sir, they're summer stock". I tried to explain that the sun didn't disappear in winter, but in fact was lower in the sky - "Sorry sir, they're summer stock" -

cold Guinness anyone?

John

Yes welcome John

We'll eventually get the crowd back together, the serious ones anyway.

Good game last night... The Sabre is all abuzz about the game - I am looking forward to next week. I just need to find some Tix... That beat-down couldn't have happened to a better team - not to say that MD is supplanting you as the "hated rival" mind you, but I am not a fan of the fat Fridge. Actually posted on TSL yesterday - condolences for Coach Beamer. Looks like he did his mum proud - May she rest in peace.

not 100% sure yet, but i was thinking around 1200/1300. the frame is only 7mths old and the group is 18mths. there is a flightdeck computer and it also has itm millenium finishing kit and a pair of open-pro's on ultegra included in the price.

Good, you found us at last. Now how's Les Southall, is he settled in and pinching bottoms as they pass. Saw the Centotaph last Sunday, the commentator said the SCV did nowt, got no medals, and just went wandering about looking for cross eyed girls, and sunbathing. Yes, ES didn't give a toss, saying closed for business, yet they still have MB's for other sports in the same format. Buggar 'em. We're getting back together on here, we've got login and most important, instant messaging.

OK Phil, you see now that Lim and I have a little think, we have come to the same conclusion, and that starting with your ride tomorrow you forget that you've got a 53T dinner plate, and only use the 39T inside ring. That way you will learn to twiddle instead of thrutching like Ulrich. Ulrich overgears, and it's too late for him to change. Armstrong was the same but years ago learn't to twiddle, beacause it's less tiring. If you develop good habits early, you don't have to change them later.
