I spent some time on the Surf Coast this summer and had some great rides, especially after school holidays and midweek if you can manage. The Great Ocean Road has a good shoulder to ride at least as far as Fairhaven and the Barwon Heads rd has a bike lane the whole way. Terrific scenery and some good hills around Anglesea. Geelong to Anglesea has bike lanes by both routes via Torquay and Freshwater creek.
