I *knew* the shoe tracking method looked familiar when I looked at

I have looked at this guy's and it is very good - especially the way you can start it on any date you want. It doesn't have to be rewritten every year, I believe. The main advantage of the nyrr races is that it's a convenient commute for me, and the races are for the most part well organised. In NJ, some of the races I've done were very good, but some weren't. This year I want to pick out a couple of good 10k races in NJ (which ones do you recommend?) Cheers, -- Donovan Rebbechi http://pegasus.rutgers.edu/~elflord/ |

I found about three in January if I remember correctly. For all I know that may have been the only three for all 12 months and in the grand picture a trivial amount of problems. For those following this, you were very response to problems. In all fairness I wrote programming tools for 30 years and spent lots of time designing, coding and testing. Even the small amount of time I spent in debug mode reminded of work and what I has escaped and my patience was thin. I can see you did a lot of work and the fact that you give it out for free and care and feed it, is really appreciated. Hopefully I'm the only curmudgeon. ![]() > That is what one gets for waiting until last minute and then redoing > it while on a ski vacation... I know of folks on r.r will probably want a few thousand other columns to record bowel movements, color toilet paper, WAVA numbers, etc but I'm not one of those. Will I cause any problems if I deleted columns P-X ( cross train notes through sleep). Maybe I'll use calories column to record my beer and wine consumption. ![]() -DougF |

I just use grid paper and document date, time, distance, temp,RHR and
weight. Would like to include more info but I'm just starting to log my runs again and decided to keep it simple. |

It is a Flash based app that keeps your data on their server. You can log your info at any internet accessible computer. It fits my needs perfectly. I like to record my distance; track my shoe mileage; track time, place, temp and conditions. I like the way everything is presented and the ease of entering the info. I've never entered a Nike shoe into the shoe tracker and I haven't been booted from the system yet! Also used Road Runners Sports log and Runners World log but found them to be lacking. |

Ridgewood on Memorial Day, Newport 10K in June, Joel P Spector, Paramus
and East Brunswick in the Fall. Keep an eye on the race calendar at http://usatfnj.org/ldr/index.html |

killing those columns should only kill the graphs, which you can also
nuke if you want. I hide workout #2 columns myself, plus change "cross training notes" (col P) to record my "barefoot minutes" and calculate a "percent barefoot" at the top of the column. I have been running about a third of my mileage barefoot (or with minimal shoes in winter), with fantastic results - improved racing and no more twisted ankles or lower-leg overuse injuries! |

Will I Mine is basically just a milage tracker which lets you track across multiple pairs of shoes. You can safely ignore the shoe part if you like, though I find if you rotate multiple pairs (almost half a dozen in my case) and like to keep track of milage on your shoes, it makes life much simpler. I tend to just put other things (race times, workout performances) in the comments field and if I want to check past performances in a workout, I just use the search functions. I don't do enough races for those to need a spreadsheet, and I doubt many people here do (besides Lance perhaps) Cheers, -- Donovan Rebbechi http://pegasus.rutgers.edu/~elflord/ |

With that many pairs in rotation you need a spreed sheet to keep track. ![]() -DF |

I've been using my own spreadsheet since '95. It's grown to 33 worksheets. Lately I've been playing with thinnman and the David Hayes templates. There are some very nice formulas in there that would come in handy. So I've combined all three into one giant-multi-purpose-trac-everything-in-my-life file. Input! Need more input! Phil M. |

I did this earlier in 2004 and had no problems so I > doubt you need to worry about it. I've tried a few. This one seems to be the most complete for my OCD needs. A lot of the sheets are protected in order to avoid accidentally mangling the code. In order to add more shoes to the shoe tracking function I had to unprotect it and add a 6th pair. If you need to do something like that, use "dead" for the unprotect password. Phil M. |

Have a look here, http://www.davidhays.net/, has a link to a very
comprehensive running log. I'm on to my third year now, i like it.
