Yep sounds fine to me. I'll be on a red Cannondale w/ an AXA jersey.

Got a bit of a saddle sore at the moment so I'll probably just go for one lap.

Sorry guys, I won't be able to make it tomorrow (next weekend should be a goer though.)

This saddle sore is quite uncomfortable on the bike (just went for a quick spin), and I don't want to make it any worse.

Hey guys, this morning I went on a walk to the bakery to get some breakfast .. what a nice mild day for some cycling I thought .. I managed to find some skin cream and was raring to go this morning .. I guess none of us bothered to check the weather forecast though!!

On the way there was a little rain, I thought it'd be just a little passing shower. Of course shortly after I got to Station Pier it was an absolute downpour!

Oh well, maybe next week..

hey rek,
well i caught up with chook1 today and yeah we rode down to Mordiallic (sp?) and yup we were completely and extremely wet. my shoes felt like a swimming pool no kidding. overall it was good.
funny thing was we went to london cafe to have some coffee and after we left there was this massive pool of water under the table. i am sure the staff were not pretty happy.

btw do you use Assos Chamois Cream ? thats pretty good for saddle sores or body glide. i am not sure about antiseptic properties of body glide.

anyways i hope to see you next week.
ps. i didnt know how close station pier was from carnegie only a mere 10kms.

Was a good ride, despite the torrential rain.....what happened to the forecast of 23 degrees and sunny??? Think I need to go out and buy some wet weather gear very soon.......

I will be Adelaide this weekend but maybe a ride the next weekend if you guys are interested.....

Sounds like a good idea to me. I'll have to get back to you with regard to date/time though, as someone might be coming down from Point Lonsdale (and not sure when yet..)

Just out of interest, what other rides do people like in Melbourne?

The Yarra Boulevarde (from the Chandler Hwy exit of the Eastern Freeway to Studley Park Road) is a pretty good basic hill circuit of about 6km each way.. I'm lucky enough to have it as part of my commute (if I decide to take the "long way") but it's also good to do a couple (or more ) laps of.

I also sometimes like a ride out Ringwood and Warrandyte way, a lot of nice roads around there .. well except for the KILLER 11+ % climb up Harris Gully Rd when making your way to Donvale.

And to play the mountain bike wildcard, there's a great and long singletrack from Warrandyte, roughly along the same route as the Main Yarra Trail, all the way to Camberwell/Kew North.

How's Sunday 9am, one easy-ish lap of Station Pier-Mordialloc sound?

OK, no worries. Let us know how you go tomorrow.

I had a "Lance day" of riding to work today; went like lightning, lower than average HR, and felt great all the way They also finally fixed the hot water system in the building, so it's no more cold showers for me

A minor technicality has come to light, my bike has no rear wheel

I noticed last night that a couple of spokes were loose, and the LBS is going to use a dab of loctite and such, and needs to leave it overnight for it to cure.
