True, but none of them ever won the TDF six times. . . . I have no problems with downgrading LA as a cyclist because he "cherrypicks" the TDF. But I don't know that he's ever set "greatest cyclist" down as a goal for himself. If "greatest TDF champion of all time" is his chosen legacy, seems to me he's done a pretty good job of achieving it.

Do you see LA saying -- well, Chechu is enough, so Triki and Ace don't have to help me? No, LA has described each domestique in the climbs as a little booster rocket for himself. Each additional one is helpful.

That's why, even in the final parts of a climb after other domestiques have been "used up", LA typically has Chechu/Heras or Chechu/Ace.
