I'm not sure why you stopped, maybe a toilet stop?

Yes, spot on!

I feel that a lot of people overestimate how fast they pedal... when i'm RRing, and training, i'm generally in a lower gear than others (i.e., pedalling a little faster).

Hay Ric, did you do some jumps in the first graph? There are three or four peaks which may have been blunted by the smoothing used. You are also on a hilly road or on an MTB.

As the 1st goal was a ride between 150 and 200 watts, was another goal to try out some new equipment (e.g. MTB or TT bike?).

Also have a hunch that you met some riders later on (perhaps your gran) as the power is a bit more 'up and down' but has a definate pattern at times.

I must be way off?!?!

Sorry just read my response, think I have every possibility in there. Must be far easier to read and analyse when you know what your looking at!

Duh! Having a stupid moment as I've just done some training!

MTB.... Its unlikly you'd have a power meter on your MTB (all that mud and crashes). Your on a hilly road!

Am I right in thinking...

1. Steady ride 150 to 200 w for 2 h (perhaps aiming for 175 w)
2. Hilly route (practice technique).
So whats number three if its not picking up your Gran.. have I missed it in another post.

okay, the goals were:
1) do a steady 2 hr plus ride at mainly zone 1
2) trash it up the hill at about 1hr 30, staying seated and keeping above 330 W
3) not go home cos it looked like rain !!

p.s. all rides are hilly(ish) here -- although it's very much a relative term!

Here's a PowerTap file from yesterday for you guys to ponder... Power is a little lower than expected, but only because I raced Wednesday and did a moderate-hard Level2 2.5hr session Thursday... all building up to peak soon.

5 intervals 4min rest 4min interval the first to where just out off the red zone the last ones where probabely in it(you where obviously not recuperated fully).

In the recuperatuing part you did something pretty weird dropping speed to almost stand still and then accelerating(but certainly not flat out as 120 watts is quite basic) (where there some nasty curves in it?)

at the end you just rode 20min to loosen the legs with little attention to keep stable power output.
