thanks for sharing ... you could start this off by syaing "My name is Ed and I have a problem getting it up."

Some people might consider that a personal attack.

However, since you are nobody, with little to say on cycling, I'll let it go. what else would you have to say otherwise.

I think this thread has run it course anyway.

It is clear Sebrango is not up to the CCA job.

All we need do now is wait to watch it unfold.

Hey Eddie,

Could the CCA reply to you by stating that people like Pierre (not that this is necessarily good) are on board to provide the experience? Let Kim deal with the management of the marketing.

And on the subject of Pierre, was there info released stating he "resigned"?

BB, it is all there in the "Legacy" thread but I'll re-post the relevant paragraph. It deals ONLY with the Foundation, as far as I can tell.

From the CCA press release on completing the by-laws of the CCA-Hamilton Foundation, dated June 23, 2005:

"The Foundation board accepted Pierre Hutsebaut’s resignation as Director and Secretary Treasurer in February of 2005. Ross Chafe was elected to replace Pierre; and Steve Lacelle, the CCA Chief Operating Officer, was added as an Ex Officio director. The Foundation has two additional members: Pierre Hutsebaut and Steve Bauer, previous national team member and recent Hall of Fame inductee.

The bold is mine.

So they played musical chair. Hutsebaut resigned a Director of the CCA Foundation.

It get complicated because Huts, Jolly and Jackson set up this thing, it appears, on their own, in Sept. 2003 BEFORE the 2003 Road Worlds even took place. Then in December 2003 CCA President Bill Kinash announced the Foundation and its mandate to find partners sponsors and donors in his Annual President' Report. (Van de Wille's like to continually overlook that passage)

Then at the very end of Febraury 2004, there is the press release which said almost the same as the press release last week but with titles changed. and one perssn, Steve Lacelll added.

The kicker, NOTHING other THaN WRITING THE BY-LAWS WAS EVER DONE. tHERE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AN aNNUAL fOUNDATION REPORT RELEASED dECEMBER 2004, ACCORDING TO bILL kINASH BUT THAT HAS NEVER BEEN MADE PUBLIC AND PROBABLY WAS NEVER WRITTEN. (does he think we will just forget?)

FOURTEEN MONTHS AND THEY HAVE APPARENTLY NOT APPROACHED ONE DONOR, PARTNER OR SPONSOR. PATRICK WAS CORRECT THAT YOU DO NOT NEED BY-LAWS TO DO THAT, BUT THAT IS WHAT THE CCA USED TO HIDE BEHIND. That was why I kept asking for them.

Sorry, I did not mean to yell here the cap lock just stayed on but I figured I'd leave it once it started.

Hey, let's ask Kim to explain it to us!

What if you are a journalist and you call the CCA, do you think either Lacelle or Sebrango have got all the history of this thing yet? Can they explain it? Lacelle sits on ex-officio, let's hope he is up to speed on it at least.

I shit my shorts laughing about this one...

Somebody was pointing to the success of the Canadian Soccer Association in landing CIBC as a sponsor as proof to Kim Sebrango's competence. She is the new Director of Marketing at the Canadian Cycling Association with no cycling experience whatsoever. Boy, did that ever backfire.

Check out what happen as soon as she left soccer....
You mean this that was done TWO YEARS AFTER Sebrango left!!!

"Reflecting CIBC's commitment to growing amateur sport in Canada, CIBC is proud to sponsor the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA). The program is a $4.3 million, 5-year (2004-2008) sponsorship agreement that is unprecedented in the CSA's history and positions CIBC as the exclusive, Diamond sponsor of the Canadian Soccer Association."

"Unprecedented in Canadian Soccer Association history"!!!!!

They had to get rid of Sebrango after ten years to get it done. I love it. She was the only thing holding them back. I guess that's how she ended up at Skate Canada.

The year after she leaves Soccer Canada lands a big contract. Hey, here's an idea, maybe if she leaves cycling right now BEFORE failing here like she did there, cycling will land a big deal, too.

Thanks for proving my point!

I'm shitting myself here laughing, I have to go change my shorts...

nbf, why don't you go do some research for me at Skate Canada, go check out the great job done there that sent her to cycling....

nbf, you made my day. I'm sending this off to all media and the CCA.....

Good research there Messrs. Kinash and Lacelle. Great work by your selection committee, the one you put together when Kinash opposition's was out of the country.

It warms my heart to see the view count on a topic in Canadian cycling go over 2000, especially on such an important issue. You don't get that on Pedal Magazine Forum without it being about me or by me.

Boobs for beads

Last weekend the CFL Ottawa Renegades had a special promotion for their game against the Montreal Alouettes. The Renegades gave out beads to all the men in the crowd so that the men could offer them to the women in the crowd to expose their breasts, as is done (was done, I think they stopped the practice) in New Orleans at Mardi Gras.

Apparently the promotion worked very well as over 18,000 people attended the game, one of the largest crowds ever for a Renegade game.

There was a $1000 dollar prize to the woman with the most beads, but Ottawa being where it is, in Ontario, none of the women accepted the offer. As Jack Todd of The Gazette correctly pointed out (for a change) all the Ottawa women who would have gone along were already working in Hull, QC, oh, sorry, Gatineau now, as the English name was dropped in the municipal merger (of course).

Now, it is really too bad Kim Sebrango didn't come up with this promotion when she was Ticket Sales Director for the Ottawa Rough Riders. Maybe the Rough Riders would have survived. Ms. Sebrango would have remained with them and Canadian cycling would have somebody marketing it that knows something of the sport.

But, no, instead we have this ridiculous situation at the Canadian Cycling Association with the sport being led by two people with no experience in the sport, daaaaa...

It was lose-lose-lose for the Rough Riders, for Sebrango and for cycling.

Woe is us.

PS Next week the Rengades should give beads to the women attending the game and they should ask men to moon a camera, any camera, there wil be no end to it.

Now this could keep me in cycling for 20 more years!

You all have a great week. I am on vacation as of now. I check in and see how everyone is doing next week.
