I teach science, specialising in biology in a secondary school. Prior to that I was a research assistant at a university but got fed up of having no money.

That's a beautiful part of the country to be living in.
I have very fond memories of holidaying in Roundstone and Galway some years back.
Thinking about it, I should get back over there and do a lot more of the west coast.

LOL; judging by the tone of this forum of late, the two are interrelated.

Thank you.
Yes, it is a very picturesque part of the world and visitors/tourists love it.
Galway is about 60 miles north of us here : I often do a round spin of 120miles on the bike.
The F/x rate for sterling/euro is good at the moment (in your favour).

But your part of the world is lovely too : Bournemouth to Salisbury is a beautiful stretch.
I have relatives living in Portsmouth and all along the south coast of England is really lovely.

Thank you too - it's a mutual countryside love-in !
I like the ride up to Salisbury and on up to Andover but prefer going up and down the hills in Studland and over towards Durdle Door.
We both probably have the same problem, though . . . The number of Grockels on the road during the holiday season.

Well, I am only 18 and in my final year of college. I plan to do a Bachelor of Nursing next year then travel to either South Africa to work in an AIDS hospital or France (from watching TdF I have fallen in love with France) to just be a nurse. Can't wait!!

ha ha ha yeap, sportzgurl, I remember you from another topic. I know we are out numbered but we all love cycling and that's why we are here right?
Your plan on to going to South Africa and working in France are just superb. Best of luck to you and if you go, don't forget to keep us posted over here.

Ciao

Agreed : the volume of traffic poses a problem for all of us.

I cycled from Bournemouth to Salisbury (went through a place called Fordingham
if I recall correctly).

On another day, i went out by Poole and up to Dorchester on the bike.
Very happy memories !

Alienator it sounds pretty cool what you do. Which desert are you in?
