After one year and 8 months, no sign of my cancer coming back! How about you? Paul, I'm proud of you, man. Way to fight! Well, I have two things in common in with Lance. One is cancer, the other is the love of Schinerbock. |

I finished chemo in late March this year and all the blood work and subsequent scans are looking positive, so fingers crossed. A few niggly complications (multiple p.e.'s prior to original diagnosis and iliac dvt following I/O) but i'll beat them in time. I'm frustrated that I can only manage 10 miles on my moutain bike at the moment but give me a year and i'll be back up to 2-3 hour Sunday hacks on the roadie. Soon be time for your two year celebration then . . . congrats and good luck for the future - no Shiner Bock over here so i'll have to crack open a Stella to toast your good health ! Take care, Paul |

Good news for you too! Don't worry about the biking. It'll come back in no time flat! The important thing is to grab life by the "short hairs" and "run like you stold it!" I'll keep you in my prayers! I will do the same and knock down a few for you. My problem is that I'm a cheap date (not being able to drink during my treatments). So a couple and I'm partying like a rock star! Anyway, stay motavated! |

The desert sandwhiched between the Santa Rita mtns, the Catalina mtns, the Rincon mtns, and--this is the giveaway answer--the Tucson mtns. Tucson, AZ. I think today is the 37th day above 100......for anyone that thinks it's not so bad cuz it's a dry heat, come out here and pedal your bike when the temps 110, 111 or so, and when you've got a headwind of 20-30 mph. Worse yet, sit at a light, on your bike, when the pavement temp is north of 150. Oy: almost makes me wish I was elsewhere in the world, with the luxury of being able to ponder all the "honor" rules of bicycle racing that aren't in the rule book. Oh, to have the spare time and be so pompous..... |

Thanks a lot! Yes, first baby. Not sure of the gender - looking forward to the surprise. Agree that life will change a lot but very excited about it. |
