That level of bad luck is terrible :
The fates have not been with him today (2 crashes and 4 bike changes). I guess his only consoliation is that not mater what happens, he can't loose polka dots....

And to think, two days ago we we're all wondering if Jan could do it. It's not even going to be close. I wonder what Lance is going to think when he passes him?

1 Jan Ullrich (T-Mobile Team) 46.57
2 Bobby Julich (Team CSC) 0.40
3 Alexandre Vinokourov (T-Mobile Team) 0.41
4 Floyd Landis (Phonak) 0.46
5 Cadel Evans (Davitamon-Lotto) 0.55
6 George Hincapie (Discovery Channel) 1.08
7 Francisco Mancebo (Illes Balears) 1.22
8 Carlos Sastre (Team CSC) 1.26
9 Vladimir Karpets (Illes Balears)
10 Christophe Moreau (Credit Agricole) 1.41

This means Leipheimer already lost at lesat 55" to Landis. Evans is doing not bad either.

Also note Macebo at 1.22. Not bad.

Basso is only second best at second check by 34". Slowing Basso

Before Stage:

6 Levi Leipheimer (USA) Gerolsteiner 8.12
7 Cadel Evans (Aus) Davitamon-Lotto 9.49
8 Alexandre Vinokourov (Kaz) T-Mobile Team 10.11
9 Floyd Landis (USA) Phonak Hearing Systems 10.42

Vino about 2 minutes behind Leipheimer; Evans about 1 minute 30 behind Leipheimer. Evans could overhaul Leipheimer.

At 49.7 check, Vino gained already 2' gain on Leipheimer. Vino is likely going to overhaul Leipheimer; Evans too will beat Leipheimer.
