I agree with everything you said. Yet, that doesn't really outline my reasons for perferring to see him gone. He was just completely incapable of recognizing that he might be wrong. Anyone who didn't agree with him on every point was attacked like his worst enemy. He was libelous, rude, childish, rigid and completely without the ability to understand that suspicion doesn't equal proof.

Like I said before, if the majority here think the forum is better off without him, then I say, support the majority. But I can't include myself in that segment nor do I see myself as likely to remain active on the forum if I have to deal with him flaming me, spreading lies and generally misrepresenthing the comments of every poster courageous enough to disagree with him. I tried to call him out on a few of his more blatant lies and he seemed to feel uncompelled to respond -- probably because he knew he had lied. I even pulled him off my ignore list just to check. As soon as I was done checking, he went right back on ignore. It's where he belongs, in my opinion. And now he's on the forum's ignore list.

While I never had any problem with Flyer's presence on this forum there were problems I had with his postings:

1. "Tous Dope" - There's enough evidence to prove this isn't true - Willy Voet's Book, David Millar's testimony (he won clean) etc.

2. He never answered straight questions (like, "Do you actually like cycling", "What are your credentials")

3. Her would go off topic wildly - (e.g. you're discussing Armstriong and he'd bang on about Mark French)

4. His belief that billion dollar pharmaceutical companies (e.g. Amgen) saw cycling as 'big business'.

When it comes to this topic, I only have respect for the opinions of the likes of Limerckman, who have been involved at a high level, love cycling and are willing to take on board alternative views.

On whole, knowing about Mr Armstrong and his blackberry, the owners of this site have no option to ban a man like Flyer, who I have always regarded as akin to the 'we didn't land on the moon types' (Armstrong was probably doped for that too).

I'm pretty sure I accused him of doping - just for fun.

Just my opinion, but I don't think this thread is going to acheive anything.

And you did your best to provoke him... I seem to remember that you were the one to call him out (too many Jonh Wayne films maybe?), he answered you, you weren't happy with the answer and kept calling him out and being sarcastic and downright rude. You did your best to piss him off and you succeeded and although I don't like what (you allege that) he did you weren't exactly the epitome of good manners... You aren't the victim here. You were as much obsessive with Flyer as Flyer with doping...
Anyway the guy may have been obsessive with doping but I would take Flyer's point of view over any of you that think that a TDF can be won by eating muesli and rubbing bodyparts with pink tape from Japan...

you should have included a "he!! no!!!" option. i couldn't hardly take coming to read anything in the grand tours forum because of his constant off-topic rants. in fact, i just came back today and literally thought, "ahhhh.....flyer must be in hiatus or something because every effing thread isn't peppered with his nonsensical bs!"

so no....don't let him back. this is a community. if you can't get along with other members and contribute to the positive feel of a place...leave!

Certainly some of what you say is true. But I had a number of experiences with Flyer where he would make ridiculous claims and when you asked him to put up the evidence, he'd either ignore you or start calling you all kinds of rude and childish names. He'd openly call anyone who didn't agree with him, "a liar", and them insinuate, or outright accuse, you of posting things you had never posted. When asked to provide a quote to support his accusations, he'd ignore it. Perhaps you agree with Flyer on the doping situation in the peloton but that doesn't excuse his behavior, his accusatory manner or his complete inability to recognize the difference between suspicion and proof.

He asked for what he got for months on end. And now he finally got it. The moderators were more lenient in his case than any other individual situation I've seen from this, or any other message board. In my opinion, they finally decided that the problem was unwilling to fix itself so they did what they, as moderators, had to do. I don't miss him.

My post was not about whether I miss Flyer or not, nor whether I think his ban was just or unjust. I just don't think that is fair to accuse someone that can't reply of something that you are (not you Beastt) as guilty of as he is. Regarding your argument with Flyer my view is that you were never on the same page (I pretty much followed it from the beginning) and you should have agreed early on that you disagree and let it go.

I concur with you concerning the agreement to disagree. If I remember correctly, I tried that. I think even he tried that. But when I would respond to a post from other than Flyer, he was right back in my face. I even put him on ignore, (the only one who has ever made it to my ignore list on any of the forums on which I post), and it wasn't enough to stop his attacks.

I also agree that it's not really fair to accuse anyone of something when they aren't around to defend themselves. Unlike some, I apply that to celebrities like Lance as much as to non-celebrities. That seemed to be what upset Flyer the most -- that I attempted to suggest that if he didn't have proof, he shouldn't be telling everyone that Lance is/was doping. I noted your "not you Beastt", but for the record, I made every reasonable attempt to allow him to present evidence of things he accused me of and he declined to present anything. I think it's pretty clear that he knew his accusations were unfounded. But he didn't let that prevent him from continuing to make false and accusatory statements.

If you're out there Googling this, Flyer, you know what I'm saying about the accusations is true.

Why should FLYER be banned? Just because he is interested in somethings that you guys are not interested in?
