Truce Steve.

I'm done being an ASS. I want to keep chatting with you folks in other countries. I will try to be more respectful.

But if I get upset or sound off against anti-american comments...Please understand, I am extremely proud to be one.
Many of us do ride MTBs.Many of the "hard-core" roadies (wearing lycra) doing laps on the local cycle track during the week are serious weekend mountain bike racers keeping fit and developing stamina.
Like motor-cycle racing, the best riders can often cross-over to any branch of the sport and be successful at it.Almost every road-racing motor-cyclist started his career on the dirt...it's virtually a pre-requisite to be able to handle a bike at lower speeds and over rough ground before graduation to the high speed machines.I expect there will be more mountain bike riders joining the roadie ranks as they look for fresh challenges and realise the attractions.
Any bike is a good bike.

this a result of the trickle down tech from mtbs first then road, but the mtb originated in ca, usa.

Different points of view - are fine.
If we all had the same view, t'would be pretty dull.
Different views are welcome.

I suppose when you're a newbie and you open up with salvos all over the place on day 2........you get these types of exchanges.
(I'm not having a go at you - I am tyring to explain the reaction)
Whereas with someone more familiar, members would have a better understanding of the views expressed and the context.

We're all guilty of firing of salvos from time to time - you've just got to stick around long enough for others to know that salvos aren't personal and can be taken with a pinch (or barrel) of salt!!

That's a nice machine.
You've got quite a collection of MTB's and roadbikes (you posted photos of road bikes previously).
