Works for me; but the US is too afraid of offending someone, or worrying about what other countries will think. The countries that hate the US won’t hate us any more than they already do. Do you think Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, or other countries give a rats about what we think. My only problem with Iraq is that we went into this with both hands tied behind our backs. It’s very hard to win that way. Kind of like closing the US Mexico border. It could be done in 6 months if there weren’t a bunch of power hungry pansies in congress worrying about what the rest of the world thinks. All they care about is keeping their power and staying in congress.

dR, I would say that the initial onslaught is over, but the war in Iraq has a way to go yet. Nobody ever really wins wars. Kind regards,

Yes, the formal war is over. Now guerrilla or asymetrical warfare has been going on for @ 3 yrs. I suspect the formal war aws much more palatable to the troops. Guerrilla warfare is hell. See-Vietnam.

dMc, The problem has always been winning the hearts and minds of the populous. Any foreign army will always be fighting half of the population, who will always be against any occupier regardless of who they are. Kind regards,

dR, I think you are probably placing too much store in White House press releases. It would be interesting to know whether, the poor blighters on the ground there, in Iraq thought it was over. At the very least they would be wondering, why their day to day struggle for life and death is necessary, if the war has already ended. Kind regards,
