Did you say "engineer"
Quote:
Two engineering students are crossing the campus when one said, "Where
did you get such a great bike?"

The second engineer replied, "Well, I was walking along yesterday
Minding my own business when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike.
She threw the bike to the ground, took off all her clothes and said,
"Take what you want."

The first engineer nodded approvingly, "Good choice; the
Clothes probably wouldn't have fit."

Let's not forget also Der Chimpenfuhrer's recent cutting of Food Stamps, the Home Energy Assistance Program [HEAP], and most every type of funding that the Fed provided to benefit needy people.

Yes - the US for instance.

No seriously, its no fun punishing the poor unless, that is, you are a Republican

this is a policy to which he has held up his part of the bargain, to wit, "no billionaire left behind".

back in the times described of the welfare caddies, a friend of mine who had friends in the position of recieving welfare, told me one boasted, "i got a brand new eldorado and it didn't cost me a dime".

fact is, i was once in the positon of receiving assistance, today, i am a business and homeowner who rides a new pro level road bike ...on occasion ferried about in a range rover.

welfare is largely an emotional issue, when it comes to justification for political affiliation, as the slice of the taxpayer pie pales in comparison to military spending. upon examination, much of this military spending is not for defense of the nation at all, but is in nature, offensive (invasive), outdated (air-to-air craft & missles)
half-baked (space missile shield) criminal in the humanitarian impact, esp. for innocent civilians (cluster bombs, fuel/air bombs, depleted uranium radioactive bombs) and nuclear menace oriented.

the gravy-train high bid contracts awarded to bush family and friends is money diverted from the true defensive capability of the us, and many with military experience and savvy (neither of which bush or his usual suspects can claim)
are losing their reluctance to speak out, and bring this to the attention of the voting public.

...BTW, while we're on the subject, let's dispel another "welfare myth": at least here in NY state, one is able to receive cash benefits for a total of just 2 years in one's lifetime, (which, the last I knew is only $332./month for a single/individual person + around $148./month Food Stamps + Medicaid).

Boy, are those layabouts getting rich off from this scheme!

Beyond the 2 year limit, one must prove a disability and receive SSI/Soc. Security bennies. Or of course you can always work for slave wages at Wal-Mart, et al.
