I say cool because the Himalayas are spectacular, and dodgy because I've experienced Indian organisation first hand.

Riding in the Himalayas would be absolutely awesome. Hell, walking through there would be fantastic. Dunno about the organisation, but non-stop curries would kill me.

What?!? No vilification? No cheap and frankly gratuitous parting shots? No rubbing salt in the wound?

You want some bile with that?

I think the Himalayas are magnificent, but I would prefer to admire them from afar. What altitude is this event taking place at? For all you sea-level types, it could prove quite challenging physically if you were tempted to try it.

Already walked through there, although that was a section of the Annapurna Circuit which is totally unridable. This is more North-West in India.

Damnit, who nicked my India LP guidebook!?!?

thinking out loud: I've had about 6 flats in my car in my life; 3 of them in the last 6 weeks!! I'm starting to get pannaroid that someone's sneaking up to my house and screwing big bolts into my tyres.
no spokes to go into the tube , no kevlar, i know 130pi is way to much for a car tyre.

Nah, I'm in the magnificent Dandenongs, how much higher could their hills possibly be?

Nah, you can do that on our behalf, wouldn't want to spoil your fun.

Years ago I travelled from New York to Colorado Springs by car. I was hoping that the drive would start me acclimating to the altitude instead of just hopping off the plane. No love there: one of my lungs is still nailed to a mile marker on Pike's Peak. I can't imagine what four times the altitude would be like.

Although a 58mph average speed going back down was quite fun (fun= f*cking terrifying). I had my friend drive me up for the second run down, hee hee!

Fark me absolutely senseless!!!

How cool would that be! Count me in! (I reserve the right to pull out in a couple of minutes when I think about it more. )

One of the worst experiences of my life was the first time we went skiing in Breckenridge - I thought my head was going to explode, the pain was so bad and walking anywhere I felt like an 80-year-old with advanced lung disease.

Tallest pass is only 3223 metres! Piss easy!

A week hanging out in Shimla should get the hemoglobin or whatever up.

Failing that, anyone got Landis' doctors number?

I went to just shy of 4000 meters when I visited Nepal. Oh yeah, that's some headache you get up there. Oh boy.
