Here's my version of my Bikely "Syd to the Gong" ride. It's not complete yet, as I'm entirely sure of what happens after Bulli. Any suggestions would be great.

The bit through Brighton, I'm sure, does go down to the water, then right along.
I remember the right into the Kingsway I think just after Thiroull, the bike way begins and takes us pretty well right the way to the lighthouse Scotty |

Pretty close.
- Come out of sydney park directly on to Princess - Switch from Sandingham to russel ave at Dolls point Thanks for that. I put those idea on notes in the bikely route. I actualy got my info from a webpage I found http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/newsevent..._routemaps.html Whilst it is from 2004, most of the directions seemed revelant. Happy Riding |

The route for the 2006 MS Sydney to the Gong Bike Ride is different from 2004 because this year it will finish in Wollongong. |

I'll think I'll leave my map as it is.
I may even give it a go in the near future. How's everybody's training going? As soon as I get off the web & get my knicks on I'll be going on a ride around the Northern Beaches. A loop of Bayview & some laps of North Head sound alright. That way, I can avoid using too many traffic lights & get a decent speed going on. |

G'day Cyclists
The first ferry from Manly Wharf leaves too late to get you to the start of the Sydney to the Gong Bike Ride. If you live on the Lower North Shore of the Northern Beaches, how are you getting to the start of the Sydney to the Gong Bike Ride? Will you ride to a train station and catch a train to St Peters or ride all the way to the start? Keep cycling for fun |

Where did I see this discussed recently? Here or bicycles.net.au? Apart from those already discussed... eg. Train from Chatswood etc. How about, 1) Find a buddy on the south side and camp overnight in their yard. 2) Get someone to drive you to somewhere convenient. 3) Get a cheap Formula 1 motel room near St Peters, on Princes Hwy for the night. 4) Start riding at 4am... ![]()

Why not drive and park in a back street near by. Pick up the car on the way back |

Yep, I had that exact F1 in mind. ![]() As for parking on the side streets. Is that too much risk? Thieves would know that there'll be lots of those and won't return for a good part of the day, especially if there's bicycle racks on the car. That would be my main concern with parking around the starting point. Otherwise, it's the obvious solution and parking spots would be at a premium.

My training for the MS Sydney to the Gong Bike Ride has included North Head 7 laps last Thursday. Centennial Park 10 laps today. Riding up Burnt Creek Deviation Balgowlah and Parriwi Road Mosman is also good training. What have you been doing for training? Bikes are fun |
