Just a remark on the short wheelbase: short wheelbase makes bike twitchy and less stable. Racing bikes have a short whelbase, good tourers come with a long wheelbase. With panniers on a short wheelbase bike the handling can get quite scarry. A sudden blow of wind can bring you down. Go for a long wheel base if you can...

Yes that is what I was thinking about the bike in regards to wheelbase.
I was surprised that the salesman pushed for a shorter wheelbase because my wife explicitly said that she would be using the bike for commuting. I was further surprised he mentioned that a smaller size would allow her feet to touch the ground while seated (!!!). What gives? Hes not even thinking about a good fit. I could have misheard him, but my wife likes the colors of the women's CRX, its not black. ![]() |
