Default battlestar Galactica

OK Bloody Channel Ten (in Perth Western Australia) has pulled the pin on the best sci-fi show ever. Thanks.
Not happy with screening it at 11:15 pm, they just cut it with no warning and replaced it with the riveting, award-winning Joker Poker.
Please !!!

WTF are you thinking ???

Clearly they weren't thinking at all.

And WTF is it with you West Australians? You must be the only place on earth that still has charity telethons.

Ahem...Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal. 12 hours of John Deeks craping on about stuff.

And Steve, I'm with you on BSG.

REALLY!!!

Telethons disappeared off the screens up here years ago, didn't realise Vic was still clinging to that old tradition.

That's because tv programmers pander to the mindless hordes who prefer to watch some form of inane police, medical, youth oriented drama/drivel, not particularly funny sit-com or reality tv crap. I think the mindset is if you're onto a good thing beat the living sh*t out of it and then beat it some more. Otherwise, I think they're sometimes too afraid of taking risks for fear of failure; meanwhile any viewer with half a brain finds something else to do out of sheer boredom.
Fortunately the series is readily available for download from many bit-torrent or other sites. Not that I advocate pirating; I see it more as backing up.

I am only a West Aussie because my ex moved here with our two boys to be with her family (as the eldest daughter, it's her duty to wear the matriarch crown and be the glue to hold the extended family together, although her sisters and one brother are all married and have kids of their own)
but with the telethon, I just went out and did some weeding, washed the car, cleaned the bike...cooked some dinner, rented a DVD...

Series 3 is just riveting!

I still remember watching the original series when I was young. Still want the model of the BSG

Series 2 has just finished here in Australia, so last night I borrowed 3 DVD's (actually 6 in total- 2 in each box) of Series 2 so I could catch up on the episodes I missed. As they always screened in a late-night timeslot, it would have been nice to see more of Tricia Helfer.... if you know what I mean...
my favourite scene is when she is wearing a long loose dress and is bent over a table.....

You should investigate Bittorrent if you want to stay current on BSG as an alternative to the dross that is commercial TV.

It can be daunting experience to configure but once it's going you'll be in TV bliss.

http://azureus.sourceforge.net/

Google for bittorrent trackers - Ditto for BT config/port forwarding.

Anyone else watching Season 3 Lost? Addiction plus

I like the show, but the mock doco, wobbly, "action cam" gives me a headache behind my eyes. I usually have to skim through it on FF.

Who are these wanker directors and/or camera guys who think they're doing something really cool??!!

That filming technique was discovered by accident when Channel 10 gave the camera to a young work experience kid who had St Vitas Dance while covering a skate contest for their Planet X pilot.

They knew they were onto something and now they have a crack team of wobbly action camera experts, most of whom have either parkinsons or muscular distrophy.

Thumbs down Re: battlestar Galactica

You know its not just the wanky handycam shooting technique which they are all using now...the other thing that bugs me about that show is the creepy noises off. I find myself expecting to see demented space whales banging into the sides of the ship everytime they do an EV shot. SG Atlantis has the same dopey background sound track, you even hear it on The Bill if you listen carefully.

I liked the old version of BG with Starbuck and his sidekick before they went off to Enterprise and NCIS, and I prefer my spaceships gleaming and clean like in StarWars. Too much gritty realism.

And whilst I'm having a rant: Dr Bashir, WTF! - you would be better off back on DS9 instead of this psychotic Stephen Maturin charater you've developed into.

Bring back McGiver in Space, SG1 isn't the same now the blond hasn't got him to lust after!

Sheeesh, I haven't been in ST fandom land for awhile, now didn't Bashir fancy himself as bit of a pants man on DS9?

I guess you BSG fans are learning to deal with the very same shonky crap we Bab5 fans had to put up with once upon a time ...

If any of you space cadets are looking for an excuse to get Foxtel, there is a new SciFi channel starting on the 1st of December - dunno what the line-up will be or which package it will be part of, but might be worth having a look at.

I'm a Next Generation fan myself, never could get into any of the other Star Trek spin-offs.

Lexx was good value too and of course, Red Dwarf (even funnier if you'd read the book).
