Actually all of the blood bags in Fuente's office were planted by Armstrong. He secretly snuk into 100+ riders hotel rooms during 7 tours de france and extracted multiple pints of blood while the riders lay sleeping. Then he cut a deal with Fuentes to store them and come up with a host of rediculous nick names attached to each to make it look like everyone else in the peloton was doping except for him. He also fabricated taped video and phone call evidence using highly sophisticated Discovery Channel video and recording equipment. And he would have gotten away with it if it hadn't been for Bro Deal and WBTs ever persistent and relentless mono-brained search for the absolute truth in cycling.

You might want to quit your day job and go to work for Armstrong. He could use a man like you.

Vansteins retired in 2004. He had a disappointing last two years with Vini Caldirola Sidermec, and Lampre.

Doubt he was accessing blood-doping or Fuentes in 03/04. If he would getting his dope, it would have been local EPO supplies.

Think he married the daughter of a Lampre owner or Caldirola. One of those.

Is Frank Schleck "Amigo di Birillo"?

Quote:
Finally, last Thursday, Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad linked Luxembourger Frank Schleck to the codename "Amigo di Birillo" in the Puerto dossier. Schleck and Basso rode together on CSC during the Giro d'Italia last year, but no concrete evidence was presented by the paper as to why Schleck was the as yet unnamed "Amigo di Birillo". www.procycling.com

apparently you see what you want to see. You can say i am incorrect, no problem, a forum is for expressing opinions. But I understand enough of Spanish, and your labeling of "complete fabrication" shows a certain lack of class as well as argument. In Germany reporting was quick to point out the effects of this news on the Ullrich situation and other riders implicated in OP, this is what I mean by expansion. But here today from tuttobiciweb:

14/05/2007 Valverde: Civil Guard gives confirmation of indiscretions

The advance had arrived Sunday on the pages of Il Giornale, the news has resumed today from the Equipe that has collected an important confirmation directly from inner sources of Civil Guard, the Spanish police: Alejandro Valverde has been involved to full load in the Operacion Puerto, hidden from the number " 18" and from the acronym " Valv-Piti".

Here’s what was written in Il Giornale on Sunday:
“Next big target? Alejandro Valverde. After Jan Ullrich and Ivan Basso, has come the hour of the murciano champion to be put under the magnifying glass. The hunting to the third big of the pedal world, frankly late, finally begins. This is what emerges from indiscretions of a high manager of the world-wide government of the bicycle.
Yesterday at the Maddalena was the head of world-wide cycling Pat Mc Quaid : awkward and hardly convincing his words, all addressed to Ivan Basso “able to lie at will and to which we will not grant any type of reduction in penalty”. But at the moment no word on the other names, on 6 thousand pages that would contain other acronyms, other names to decipher and to attribute to the suspected runners, that number more than a hundred.
For a long time, from when this Spanish scandal of world-wide importance, known as “Operacion Puerto”, burst on the scene, the name of Alejandro Valverde is on the mouth of all. The major Spanish media has connected the Valv-Piti acronym to him. As “Birillo” was the name of the dog of Ivan Basso, therefore “Piti” is the name of the dog of Valverde. The varesino has been slaughtered, stripped naked, for the Spanish rider there has been only silence, indifference, above all an excessive precaution, regarding his involvement.
In Spain, at the moment, nobody has moved a finger. The Spanish Federation makes believe nothing is happening, the Uci of Pat Mc Quaid has s appeared neither strong, or convincing in matter. Now, however, something moves and it has come out, that within two months also on the the great Spanish rider, the attentions and the eyes of all will be directed. The most rigorous it seems are his own employers, a French bank, the Caisse d' Epargne, directed from that old fox named Miguel Maria Echevarri, mentor of Miguel Indurain. The Napoleone of cycling, this small great man of the two wheels, stays silent, but the French leaders are making of all in order to uncover what they can from the Spanish cycling society on Echevarri that his pupil, in the attempt to put a little clarity in a world that is still too much anchored to it’s old ways “.

I read enough of the Spanish and Italian newspaper sites to say confidently that the reporting is pretty much the same. Basso gives his interviews to La Gazzetta and Manzano gave his to As (remember that one? Did that seem like some kind of white wash?) so they don't always get the same things at the same time but I don't see any signs of negligence in reporting the stories.
