Valverde is probably a goner. It seems the only reason he escaped last summer was that the Spanish investigators decided not to include him because the evidence he worked with Fuentes was a couple years old. He appears to have been with Fuentes while he was riding with Kelme, just like the rest of the Kelme team. The investigators were not consistent because they were quick to include Hamilton, who's relationship with Fuentes was also a couple years old.

Google the name Dr. Luigi Checchini and Bjarne Riis together and you'll see what pops up.

Dr Checchini is an Italian "prepatore" or coach who whelpsed Bjarne Riis win the 1996 Tour de France.

He also connected Hamilton with him while at CSC. Most likely Basso too. And it's not too far a stretch of the imagination to include the like of Cancellara and Voigt in there too!

Basso and Cancellara worked with Checcini since their Fassa Bortolo days. Voigt isn't a Checcini client.

While Voigt isn't a Checchini client, he is a Riis rider. And he has some surprising results.

It looks like "Oso" and not "Osa". I could be wrong but it looks like an "o". Here is the link to the document.

Looks like things are going to get a lot worse again just prior to the Tour, according to cyclingnews.com.

Gerolsteiner Team Manager Hans-Michael Holczer expects that "something big will happen" before the Tour de France starts, in relation to the list of riders allegedly involved in Operación Puerto. The ProTour team managers are scheduled to meet with UCI President Pat McQuaid June 19.

T-Mobile's technical director, Luuc Eisenga told the dpa that "it could be that the UCI has evaluated the 6000 page document from the Spanish investigators."

The Kölner Express newspaper said that it is expected that the UCI will announce after the meeting which riders will not be allowed to ride the Tour this year because of their involvement in Operación Puerto. There is allegedly a list of 53 to 58 riders. It is further speculated that others who are not involved in the Spanish doping affair but who have confessed to being involved in the Telekom 1990s doping scandal, could also be rejected from the Tour - for example, Erik Zabel of Team Milram, Sport Director Rolf Aldag and Directeur Sportif Brian Holm of Team T-Mobile, and CSC Team Manager Bjarne Riis. Also mentioned in Walter Godefroot, advisor to Team Astana, who has denied any involvement with the Telekom 1990s doping scandal.

So, will Valverde be in or out, and can they really ban Godefroot?

Last French to dope were nobodys riding for Cofidis. And most were caught. If they doped, they would win races.
